Review: Whole Foods Toledo

Review: Whole Foods Toledo

Whole Foods can be a great spot to stop in for lunch, they have a nice sushi selection, salad bar, hot bar, bakery items, and a plethora of bottled drinks to try. This location is a bit smaller than most at a relatively small 30,000 sq ft. The staff are generally helpful and knowledgeable. However, they don’t offer as many samples or as wide of a selection as the larger stores. While Foods opened its doors on August 7th, 2019 more than two years after it was first announced. Whole foods is located at 3420 Secor Rd, Toledo, OH 43606.

Lucas County Prosecutor out-of-line for using public funds to host political press conference

On October 11th 2018 Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates held a press conference flanked by area law enforcement officials where she explained why they believe that Issue One (which would lessen sentences for drug offenses) is a bad idea.  Their primary complaint being that without the threat of being able to lock people up in cages they wouldn’t be taken seriously, and non-violent drug offenders would “get off too easily”.  Nevermind the ridiculous assertion that the only way to help drug offenders is to lock them up in prison, why are they using taxpayer funds to give a press conference

Toledo Man Found Guilty Of Shooting Police Officer During No Knock Raid

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge James Bates sentenced Jamaine Hill to 47 years in prison for shooting a police officer during a no knock raid. James who is in a wheel chair thought that his house was being broken into so he shot through the door hitting a Toledo police officer. This is yet another case of the dual justice system whereby citizens are expected to immediately recognize that someone is a police officer even when they can’t see them and react accordingly, meanwhile police can commit all kinds of atrocities as long as they claim to have felt threatened.

Review: Toledo Walleye Hockey Fun For The Whole Family

Review: Toledo Walleye Hockey Fun For The Whole Family

The Toledo Walleye is Toledo’s very own ECHL team. They are affiliated with the Detroit Red Wings and the Grand Rapids Griffins.  If you’ve never been to one of their games I highly recommend going. Tickets range from $17 – $26 (not including special events).  The Huntington Center where they play has 8,000 seats so you can generally find decent tickets even if purchased during the same day as the game.  The Walleye as of this moment are the ranked first in their conference. The action is fast, they play hard, and you fights are not uncommon. Parking can usually

Review: Kyoto Ka Sushi Bar

Kyoto Ka (300 Madison Ave, Toledo, OH 43604) is one of my favorite lunch time spots. If you’re a fan of Nigiri or Shashimi they have a great Sushi Combination ($13.95) and Sashimi Combination ($15.95).  Soup and salad are included and you can choose between a Tuna roll or a California roll. The atmosphere is upscale and classy. Most of the clientele during the lunch hour are from the downtown business crowd.  The waitstaff are attentive, and the food is made with care and attention to detail. The sushi is fresh and proportioned well. This is by far my favorite

Review: Original Sub Shop & Deli

The Original Sub Shop (402 Broadway St, Toledo, OH 43604) claims to be the first and oldest sub shop in Toledo.  It was founded in 1979 By Jackie and Sarkis David and was purchased by the current owner in 2015.  While I really wanted to like this place there a few issues that prevent me from going back.  The building is old and poorly insulated, during the winter it is uncomfortably cold inside.  The tables and chairs look to be about as old as the building and they aren’t very accommodating for large groups or lunch meetings. The other issue
